Savitri Foundation violates Ashram’s copyrights
In R.Y. Deshpande’s book “Man-handling of Savitri” and the chapter titled “This whole Theory of Authentication and Approval” that is published on the website ‘www.motherandsriaurobindo.org’ the readers are informed and also given the proof that the Savitri Foundation which is run by R.Y. Deshpande himself and supported by Narendra Gehlaut and his wife Jyoti Mirdha had violated the copyrights of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust (SAAT), amounting to theft of intellectual property. The violation committed by the Savitri Foundation was duly pointed out by the Managing Trustee of the SAAT.
A copy of the letter issued by the SAAT that is published in R.Y. Deshpande’s book is reproduced here:
While Narendra Gehlaut, Jyoti Mirdha, R.Y. Deshpande, Geetanjali and Jayant Bhattacharya and their other colleagues were trying to occupy the high moral ground and were zealously trying to teach a few lessons to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust (SAAT) by attacking the trustees, the truth is that their own organizations were the ones in reality guilty of and involved in violating the copyrights of the SAAT as well as helping themselves of its intellectual property.
Most ironically, Jyoti Mirdha’s letter addressed to the SAAT dated May 15th 2012, accuses the Ashram Trust of ‘dereliction of duty’ for not having acted against Peter Heehs whom she wrongly accuses of having violated the copyrights of the SAAT and of stealing it’s intellectual property. Not only were Jyoti Mirdha’s allegations against Peter Heehs and the Ashram Trust patently false and visibly mala fide, but while she was pointing fingers at and attacking the Ashram Trust, her very own Savitri Foundation had been involved in violating the Ashram Trust’s copyrights and misusing its intellectual property !
It is important to note that in August 2011, Jyoti Mirdha was aware that her Savitri Foundation was guilty of violating the Ashram Trust’s copyrights and that it had been stealing Ashram’s intellectual property. Nevertheless, almost a year later in May 2012, Jyoti Mirdha had the gall to behave as though she is concerned about the Ashram’s welfare and attacks the Ashram Trust, accusing it of dereliction of duty! With these facts and their chronology at our disposition, the vindictive intent of Jyoti Mirdha’s attacks against the Ashram are revealed.
The ploy of deflecting attention from one’s own misdemeanours by blaming others instead, is something that is commonly found in those who have little regard for propriety or ethics and who are instead driven by personal and vested interests. If there was any doubt about the motivations and modus operandi of those attacking the Ashram, the passing of time and the spontaneous and inevitable surfacing of related facts gradually but surely reveals the true story to the world.
