A Dialogue : 1

July 4, 2012

It is well known that Raman’s and Sradhalu’s website “thelivesofsriaurobindo.com” is a tool for their single-pointed agenda and propaganda against the Ashram. This point is strengthened by the fact that they censor, suppress or exclude all comments that question their tall claims and their baseless allegations or that present different points of views.

Numerous comments have been posted on their website challenging their limited views and wrong information, but these have been promptly censored and have never seen the light of day on their website. Raman, Sradhalu and those posting on that website are not interested in a dialogue. They are not interested in finding the truth. All that concerns them is their own, personal, limited point of view. All other points of views are discarded summarily. This has also been the case with most of their supporters who post comments on that website.

But a few days ago, one H. Acharya, who has recently appeared on the scene and has been featuring regularly on Raman’s and Sradhalu’s website as well as several other blogs has made an exception by starting a dialogue with us. We appreciate this gesture of what appears to be a refreshing openness to the points of views of others, even though until now his rhetoric has not been very different from what we are all used to coming from their side.

We feel that H. Acharya’s gesture and points of views on this blog deserve more prominence (instead of featuring only as comments) and we are therefore chronicling our exchanges with him in this new series of posts. As we enter the second round of exchanges with H. Acharya, we reproduce our first exchange with him here below:

H. Acharya said (On 2012/06/30 at 9:24 pm):

The purpose seems to be laudable.

BUT it would help if you categorically clarify whether this group supports and endorses all the actions of the managing trustee with respect to Peter and his book. That would also clarify whether you are supporters of the Guru-drohi.

Our response (On 2012/07/01 at 12:27 pm):

Dear H. Acharya,

Thank you for your comment and for finding the purpose of our blog laudable.

Regarding the clarification that you request, we are unclear about what you mean when you say “all” the actions of the Managing Trustee, so we are unable to answer your question as it is too vague. If you can be more specific about which of the actions of the Managing Trustee you want us to comment upon, we will share our views accordingly.

But we can categorically state that our group upholds, supports and endorses the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust’s stand – and therefore also that of the Managing Trustee – of neither prescribing or proscribing Peter Heehs’s book “The Lives of Sri Aurobindo.”

About the clarification that you seek to decide whether we are supporters of Guru-drohis or not, we are intrigued about what makes you believe that you are in a position to decide who is a Guru-drohi and who is not one.

But for starters, according to us, those who:

– go to court against the Ashram – particularly on matters that are subjective, based on personal opinions and perceptions or even worse which are frivolous;

– purposely spread false, wrong or incomplete information against the Ashram or its members to malign them;

– instigate movements of masses against the Ashram and its members;

– politicize matters relating to the Ashram especially by involving politicians;

– try to get external parties involved with Ashram matters against the will of those in-charge;

are likely to qualify as Guru-drohis.

Regards,
– Well-wishers of Sri Aurobindo Ashram –

    Dear Well-wishers, H. Acharya is nothing else but a loudspeaker for charlatans like Shradhalu, fraudsters like Jayanto, manipulative crooks like Vijay-bhai, foul souls like Alok Pandey and frustrated men like Ranga whose only purpose in life is to create trouble when their selfish interests are not fulfilled. Do you really expect a sensible dialogue from such people?

    • Dear A. Ghose,
      Thank you for expressing your strong opinions but we wish to say that one should not pre-judge H. Acharya’s intentions. Unlike the others that you have mentioned, H. Acharya has shown interest in having a dialogue with us and we must give him a fair chance to convince us that his opinions or beliefs are reasonable if not right. Thank you and Regards.

    • You forgot to mention the sly Deshpande and the ambitious Reddy Bros. among a few others.

      • Dear VJ, We trust H. Acharya is a dedicated person and has something interesting to share. He must be given a fair chance. Thank you and regards.
